Online learning
Heard about free online learning? Heard about Khan Academy?
Well, now you have and the future is no longer in the hands of others but yourself.
Khan Academy has launched an idea that has been around for a decade with the internet, but Khan has actually made a collaboration of online learning that should have existed years ago. Now it’s here! Contribute or participate!
You can visit the Khan Academy and learn about mathematics, history, economy or anything else that has been published online and quality checked by the ones employed in Khan Academy.
It’s a free online school, where you put down your own speed of learning, by rerunning, pausing and taking responsibility of your own future knowledge.
I love ideas like this, I would like to see ideas that are already out there, being manifested into something for the good of everyone! I love the direction of this idea, that knowledge is free and doesn’t need to be paid for.
Even when you make knowledge free, there will be so many more opportunities to monetize it for those with brilliant ideas such as follow-ups, deeper understanding with advanced videos or simply make specialized packages that only minorities are in need of (learning a program, how to take care of your garden etc.).
You can monetize it by making some free and then let people buy more videos from the same guy/girl if the customer likes what he gets from the free view. Or if the viewer think you are to expensive or not so good, he/she’ll move on to someone else or read about it instead. Knowledge is free, visit and use the public library if you don’t use the online one.
Just remember, you never need to pay to get knowledge of something. On the other hand, when you exchange the goods of money for the goods of knowledge you probably do it because of the packaging of it (good speaker, easily written etc) and not because you really had to pay for the access.
We are all different people, with different needs, so you can be part of the free movement and still earn enough money to live well with your exchanges in what you do well that others enjoy. Find what you love and do it!
