More than ever we need to fight for the right to publicize free speech.

But aren’t we on the verge of being at the peak of our civilization in terms of free speech?

Yes, we are, but at the same time facing our biggest manipulator in history.

I will not deny it, I am talking about copyrights and the right to neglect, suppress and take away information published by the public and for the public, on the terms of violating the ever expanding copyright law.

You’ve probably experienced that one of your uploads on video, audio or other media services has been declined, replaced or taken away because of infringements to the original author. Then you might ask; but you can only remove what is copyrighted in the upload?

Let’s put in the bigger picture. We have a world of free speech, but the news companies are basically owned by a few persons on top. I mean almost all of them. Rupert Murdoch? On the other hand it is not wrong, illegal or evil being rich and owning companies.

How many times have you watched a news clip on a service such as YouTube? Have you ever been in the situation where the video has been removed due to copyright infringements? Usually you can’t know such things are happening on the YouTube (or any other) service alone, but when a movie has been shared on a blog or other publication sites, then everyone trying to play the removed video will actually have access to why the video is not accessible anymore.

Power lays in the understanding of user behavior, to let you get familiar with a service, such as news. When you watch the news on the television, it’s actually because you trust them for bringing you the right information. Weird right?

Television has the power to shift focus rapidly, with new or more information on a subject that has previously been covered, you actually (re)record over the most recent information that you got watching their channel earlier. It’s true, you’ll see.

Basically news through television can tell you the truth, but replace it with twisted news on the same subject and make you see the world as they project it.

With the Internet as a recorder, a search engine and an invention to refresh, pick up old recordings and reanalyze them in comparison to the new information, people actually get to understand on their own, without the news agency having power over the user anymore.

So what has this to do with free speech, copyrights and power? It’s all combined.

With television they had the power of the mob, with Internet they don’t have power over the mob before they have a rigid copyright law in place, so people with interests can silently remove information that has been aired on their news show (such as video and audio).

They have the right to pick, yes, pick what should not be published anymore and what should be published further. You get the bigger picture now? It’s not a fantasy and it’s not a conspiracy. It’s reality.

In other words, I want to be thankful for being able to tell you this and let you dig into it with your logic, your brain and see for yourself with your life. The right of free speech has never been and can never be taken away when written.
